Which country's workforce is most exposed to AI?

The United Kingdom has the most exposed workforce, averaging 4.45 out of 10 weighted by employment, followed by Japan (4.25) and Canada (3.81). Pakistan is the least exposed at 2.35.

How many jobs are highly exposed to AI?

About 110.3M of the 1.02B jobs covered (11%) are in occupations scoring 7 or more out of 10. The United Kingdom has the largest share at 27.6%; Pakistan the smallest at 6.2%.

What does the AI exposure score measure?

Each occupation is scored from 1 to 10 for how much AI could reshape it over the next 5 to 10 years. 1 means almost entirely physical or in-person work; 10 means almost entirely digital work that a language model can already do. Country figures are averages weighted by employment.

Does a high AI exposure score mean a job will disappear?

No. The score measures how much AI could change the work, not whether the job goes away. AI can make each worker more productive, and demand, regulation and preference for human workers all shape what happens. Scores are model estimates for research, not predictions.

Which jobs are most exposed to AI across countries?

Software developers and engineers are among the two most exposed occupations in all 9 countries, scoring 8 to 9 out of 10. Data entry clerks score 10/10 in the United Kingdom and Pakistan, and bookkeeping, accounting, administrative and call-centre roles also rank high.

Why do some countries score lower on AI exposure?

Exposure follows the job mix. Economies with more work in agriculture, construction, trade and informal jobs score lower: 31% of Pakistan's workforce is in agriculture, forestry & fishing. Service- and office-heavy economies such as the United Kingdom and Japan score higher.
